WHO WE ARE
Schollmeyer & Steidl Legal has several experienced consultants: the two namesakes and founders of the firm, Daniel Schollmeyer, Ina Steidl and also Dr. Barbara von Rohr, Sven Laacks, Lydia Martin and Dr. Eva-Maria Emsinghoff. We are a young and independent firm. As consultants we offer years of experience in a market which is still young in Germany.
As trained attorneys, we can look back upon years of relevant professional experience at well-known law firms and corporates in Frankfurt, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Munich in various fields of business law.
In recent years, the founders have worked with extraordinary success as recruiters for the legal market. As the first German employees in key positions for an english company, they developed its recruitment business in German-speaking countries and contributed decisively to its former success. Then the logical step for them was to go out on their own.
Instead of lending our considerable experience in the recruitment of partners, associates and inhouse counsels to a major parent company, we put our entire expertise to work for you, as we have done in the past, at the highest levels and with extraordinary effectiveness, for clients as well as candidates.
Today we are the recruitment firm which we as lawyers always wished we had and which we as consultants have never been able to find.

Daniel Schollmeyer studied law in Regensburg and Frankfurt. He completed his internship (Referendariat) in Frankfurt and at the German Embassy in Bangkok. After his second state examination, he worked as an attorney for a well-known media law firm in Berlin.
After that, he completed an LLM program in the US and then decided against a career as an attorney and for a career as a "legal" human resources consultant. He became the first German employee of Hays Legal (then called "HaysZMB") and made a decisive contribution towards developing their legal recruitment business in both Germany and Switzerland.
Since the end of July 2006, he has worked and served as a managing director for Schollmeyer & Steidl. For him, it was a logical move to go out on his own, where he could better and more freely utilize all of his contacts and experience for the benefit of clients and candidates. Finally, this move allows him to provide real advice, as opposed to working in a multi-level marketing organization.

Ina Steidl studied law at Humboldt University in Berlin, as well as at the LSE in London and the University of St, Andrews in Scotland. She completed her internship (Referendariat) in Berlin and in Los Angeles, USA. After her second state examination, she worked for one year at a specialized Berlin law firm, where she practiced corporate, building and civil procedure law.
In autumn 2000, she went to Bristol, Great Britain, to study for her LLM, after which she began to work at Linklaters Oppenhoff & Radler (now: Linklaters) in Frankfurt. She worked at that firm (at last as Managing Associate) through April 2005, in corporate and banking law, for 6 months of which she was assigned to the firm's Moscow office.
In June 2005, Ina Steidl became a consultant for Hays Legal, where she was responsible for consulting both law firms and in-house clients, which consisted primarily of banks, insurance companies and financial services companies.
Since the end of July 2006, she has worked and served as managing director for Schollmeyer & Steidl. "I want to contribute my experience as a recruiter to a firm without external guidelines. Satisfied candidates and customers are important to me" said Ina Steidl.

Barbara von Rohr is a fully qualified German lawyer trained at the Universities of Würzburg, Bonn and Kiel (Germany) as well as Lausanne (Switzerland). As scholar of "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft" Barbara obtained a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Kiel - she composed her Ph.D. thesis as a research scholar at Cornell Law School in Ithaca, NY.
After her internship (Referendarzeit) in Hamburg (Germany), she joined Clifford Chance, Frankfurt in 1998. Initially starting her activity in the field of environmental law, she soon placed her focus on Corporate Law / M&A. After a parental leave and a 3 year period in Brussels (Belgium), she worked in Clifford Chance's Private Equity Team until joining Schollmeyer & Steidl in February 2007. Since January 2010 she is a partner of the firm.
The opportunity to leverage her experience as a lawyer and to simultaneously place the human factor as a driving force in the corporate environment into the center of her work creates the professional challenge that Barbara was looking for.

Sven Laacks studied law at Westfälische Wilhelms University in Munster. Simultaneously he worked for a Junior management consultancy and a Real Estate Management firm.
He completed his legal clerkship in Munster, Berlin and Munich. During this time he fulfilled stages by working for a big German electricity provider and an established real estate law firm.
After finishing his legal clerkship he started his legal career as a lawyer for a medium-sized law firm specialized in insurance law. Since February 2008 he supports Schollmeyer & Steidl as a legal recruitment consultant in Frankfurt.

Lydia Martin studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms-University at Münster. Whilst completing her internship (Referendariat) in Bochum and Düsseldorf she worked for a medium-sized law firm in the field of insurance law and in the legal department of Deloitte & Touche.
After her second state examination she was a member of the legal department of Starbucks Coffee Deutschland GmbH. She moved to London in the autumn of 2008 and after a year of postgraduate studies was awarded an M.A. in International Business Management.
Lydia Martin joined Schollmeyer & Steidl in January 2010.

Eva-Maria Emsinghoff studied law at the universities of Trier, Nancy (France) and Cologne. Following her studies she received her doctor's degree at the university of Cologne. During her internship (Referendariat) in Cologne and Bristol (England) she worked with the international law firm Osborne Clarke. Eva-Maria Emsinghoff started her carrer as an attorney in December 2008 at the international law firm Simmons & Simmons in Düsseldorf in the Intellectual Property Department. Her work was mainly focused on trademark and unfair competition law.
In July 2010, Eva-Maria Emsinghoff became a consultant for Schollmeyer & Steidl in Cologne and Dusseldorf, where she is responsible for consulting candidates and both law firms and inhouse-clients.
